2023 National Exams Have Undergone Changes by the Government

Kenya’s Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya National Examinations Council, David Njengere, has issued a number of significant orders in advance of the country’s impending national exams in 2023.

The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams will now be given twice daily, with the collected papers being retrieved at each session.

This is one of the major developments. In the morning, the first set of papers will be collected, reviewed, and then returned.

Njengere made this declaration on Monday, the first day of the exam seasons, during a speech at the KNEC offices.

It has also been revealed that beginning with the tests this year, the KCSE examination papers will be taken twice from the storage containers.

There will be 576 distribution stations or containers used for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment. The distribution of KCSE papers will also utilize 567 containers.

Njengere reported that the council has obtained an additional 82 containers to help the transfer go smoothly for the 13 newly created sub-counties that lack containers.

He stressed that all testing locations are connected to adjacent distribution hubs through a thorough mapping system that the council has developed.

Schools will be able to readily obtain their exam materials from nearby subcounties or counties thanks to this strategic mapping.

Njengere also emphasized the value of upholding strong security in testing facilities.

To maintain the validity of the testing procedure, only approved employees, such as center managers, supervisors, and invigilators, will be granted access to these centers.

A list of all the support workers on duty must be given by center managers to the sub-county directors of education before to the start of the exam session.

The council will conduct a thorough briefing and sensitization for all people responsible for conducting the tests from October 2 through October 6, according to Njengere.

He underlined the need of personal attendance at these briefings and strongly advised against delegation in this situation.
