List of recent TSC promotionsupdated TSC promotion list. According to Kenya’s Teachers Service Commission, 16,000 teachers were promoted this year on the basis of gender equity, regional balance, career progression standards, and affirmative action for desert and semi-arid regions.
In secondary schools, the promoted teachers will serve in the capacities of
- Senior Master IV,
- Deputy Principals I and II,
- Head Teachers, and
- Deputy Head Teachers II.
The promotion of teachers across regions showed a fair distribution, with Kiambu County having the highest number, followed by Kisii and Kakamega.
The Commission has set guidelines for the number of administrators that schools should have in response to a shortage of Deputy School Heads, Senior Teachers, and Masters.

Teachers with acting experience will also be given preference when it comes to promotions.
The TSC boss presented a report to the Senate Cohesion Committee detailing the medical benefits, employment, promotions, and transfers of unruly instructors.
The TSC report indicates that 6,214 teachers will advance one level and 5,436 teachers will advance two levels from grade B5 to grade C1.

Dr. Macharia’s report indicates that the commission plans to promote 11,258 teachers in the common cadre promotions for 2022-2023,

The next TSC promotion interviews will lead to the promotion of over 36000 teachers overall.
The analysis shows that Kakamega has the most opportunities for promotion. 288 individuals will transfer from C1 to C5,
227 individuals will transfer from C1 to C5, and 36 individuals will transfer from C1 to C2.
21 instructors will be transferred from B5 to C1, C1 to C2, and C2 to C3 in Garissa County.
As a result, the commission intends to promote 36000,additional teachers during the FY.
This is through affirmative action in areas with a teacher shortage and 13.717 additional teachers through a competitive promotion.
The commission did note that 7,282 primary school teachers had been identified who were prepared to shift to junior secondary schools (JSS), though.
