Calendar For Sports in Schools Released, Here are Dates
Ministry of Education has published the sports schedule for elementary and secondary schools.
As per to a directive sent by administrative secretary Andrew Rukaria on behalf of the Principal Secretary, games will resume the following month.
A circular states, “It has been decided that the elementary and secondary schools compete at all levels in term one 2022.”
All regional county directors, county directors, and sub-county directors in the education sector received the circular on June 22.
When COVID-19 began, the ministry issued an order suspending all extracurricular activities.
Kenyan government promised to resume the games last year, but has yet to provide a timeline.
It will enable athletes who meet the requirements to compete in the global under 20 trials, according to the circular.
Ministry has ordered that three institutions gradually restart operations.
Primary and high school sports competitions will be held at Kigari TTC from July 2 through July 4 and from July 3 through July 7, respectively.
The Games for special needs education in secondary and primary schools will be held at Machakos TTC from July 2 to July 4. On June 30, regional games will be played, according to the circular.

The medical officer from the ministry of health will be included, and there will only be 20 participants, according to the circular.,
