CBC training; TSC releases training locations and schedules.
The Teacher Service Commission (TSC) is expected to launch a secondary school tutor training program from next month.
Teachers will receive training in Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) and Competency-Based Assessment (CBA).
The committee listed the teachers of: language,science,math,humanities and sciences technical courses
To train in a document dated September 26, sent to TSC regional and division directors.
Teachers will be trained at Teachers College (TTC) and other designated locations in the district.
Teacher training will begin from October 9 to 13, 2023.
Training of master trainers and trainers in training (TOT) will begin earlier. The Kenya Institute of Special Education will host a training session for master trainers from various institutions on October 2.
TSC CBC 2023 training
The lecturers will be TSC, KICD, KNEC, KEMI, CEMASTEA, MOE, KISE and TTCs
The TOTs (SNE and normal) will then be trained by master trainers.
TOT training will begin on October 6 and 7 at teacher training colleges and other selected locations across the county.
Curriculum Support Officer (CSO),
Training teachers (tutors),
TSC sub-district director, and
The Ministry of Education’s quality assurance staff are also examples of TOT.
Training for all participants will be conducted face-to-face.
TSC CBC 2023 training
The teacher training comes after TSC sent 18,000 middle school teacher trainees in late August and early September. The guidance also comes as Year 7 students prepare to start national written exams in October.
Grade 7 subjects have written tests
Compulsory and elective subjects have written exams for 7th grade students.
Testing will take place from October 2 to October 26, 2023.
