Inorder for one to be employed by TSC, he/she must meet teaching qualifications required.
Legibility of one to teach in secondary schools,he/she must be a diploma and bachelor of education graduate and must have a mean grade of C+ or better in KCSE.

One must also have a C+ in two teaching subjects as per to the new TSC requirements for teacher recruitment. Those who are interested PTE applicants, they must have a C-plain or higher and a PTE certificate from KNEC.

Also the minimum average grade for visually and hearing-impaired people is a C-minus.
Those who wish to join teaching profession and have C in the KCSE qualify as primary school teacher but not a secondary school teacher.

Now all the Secondary school teachers must have a minimum KCSE grade of C+, as well as a C+ in each of their two academic subjects.
In addition, the minimum academic and professional qualifications for teacher registration and recruitment are a bachelor’s degree in education with two (2) teaching subjects or a bachelor’s degree in science or arts with a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) in two teaching subjects.

Persons who have acquired a Diploma in Education or gone through the A level system in the pertinent field, as well as Bachelor of Education undergraduates with a mean grade of C Plain and C Plain in the two teaching topics at KCSE, are qualified (s).
Again the bridging or pre-university diploma will be awarded to those who finish the course.
