CS Machogu to preside over validation of prior learning policy.

The revision of the policy, according to acting KNQA Director General Alice Kande, will bring it into line with regional and international goals.

According to her, the approval of the updated draught of the RPL Policy Framework is more than simply a symbolic victory; it also demonstrates Kenya’s dedication to excellence.

A evaluation of the policy framework for the recognition of prior learning (RPL) and differential unit cost report will be conducted by education specialists.

Ezekiel Machogu, the education secretary, will preside over the three-day validation procedure, which will start on Wednesday.

To connect the policy with the Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda (Beta), a review is necessary.

The RPL implementation guidelines, RPL tools, and RPL instruments are a few of the important publications being validated.

The Ministry of Education, the Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA), the National Industrial Training Institute (Nita), the Technical Vocational Education Training Authority (TVETA), and the Council of Governors are among the organisations that have provided the experts.

The revision of the policy, according to acting KNQA Director General Alice Kande, will bring it into line with regional and international goals.

The task of realigning our policy framework was taken on. In line with the National Economic Agenda and the Bottom-Up Transformation Agenda—a vision that promotes inclusivity, empowerment, and the improvement of our country’s human capital—we understood that our policies should not exist in isolation but should instead seamlessly integrate with the larger vision of our government, Kande said.

Therefore, we have a keen awareness of the global megatrends that are transforming global industries and society.

According to her, the approval of the updated draught of the RPL Policy Framework is more than just a symbolic victory; it is also evidence of Kenya’s unwavering commitment to excellence and the advancement of society.

“This updated foundation is more than just a written text. It is a pledge to our citizens that their knowledge and experiences matter and that learning is a lifelong adventure that honours each person’s individual learning style, according to Kande.

“It is a promise to our country that we are embracing innovation, aligning ourselves with the winds of change, and creating an environment where every citizen can thrive.”

The Credit Accumulation and Transfer Systems (CATS) and RPL policy should be implemented and made known in Kenya, according to the Presidential Working Party on Education Reform (PWPER).

According to the paper, “We recommend the creation of a framework for linkages among TVETs to eliminate duplications and create centres of excellence based on niche.”

The goal is to better enable people to participate in a variety of economic opportunities by establishing a framework for skill recognition through the issuance of certifications based on competence.
