The boarding secondary schools in Kenya will be phased out over time, as authorized by Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha.

Professor Magoha has rejected a proposal to close boarding schools immediately.
The Professor has indicated that eliminating all 4,000 boarding schools at once would be difficult, but that the government would instead adopt a policy requiring future schools to be day schools. This will result in an increase in the number of day schools that will see accomodation of CBC students.

“There is no plan to eliminate them, but there is consideration.” A progressive approach is required. “Perhaps new start-up schools will be day schools,” Magoha speculated. Several education stakeholders feel that abolishing boarding schools will put an end to the recent uptick in school discontent.

Most Parents had earlier on protested that their children are still young and they were wondering how they are going to survive in boarding school with those big secondary School boys and girls.

TSC boss also saidthst they would pay attention to the CBC kids more than the other secondary school students because they can handle themselves.

Education ministry has relieved them off this stress by saying that the kids are going to use day schools and not boarding as it had been protested earlier.
With the above efforts, it will make sure that the kids are safe and are comfortable with the learning environment.
