The process of secondary school selection for 2022 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) students will be announced for both public and private primary schools across the nation.
Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec) has suspended high school selection in order to promote faster registration of KCPE students.
Early this month, quite a number of schools complained about Knec servers that were inefficient and slow, making the registration procedure onerous.
The Kenya National Examinations council on the other hand, affirmed that the process will begin today, May 16th, suggesting that KCPE 2022 applicants can immediately begin choosing secondary schools to attend in 2023.
When schools uploaded the learners’ bio data, the registration of KCPE, KPSEA, and KCSE candidates ended on May 14, 2022, according to Knec.
The process of placement of Grade 6 students in junior secondary schools is still fraught with ambiguity.
However the fact that CS Magoha stated that the learners will be put in day and boarding junior secondary schools across the country, no school decisions have been made for the candidates.
Subjects such as mathematics, English, Kiswahili, Integrated Sciences, and Creative and Social Sciences are the disciplines tested.
First cohort of Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) students will take their final exam at elementary schools from November 28 to 30, 2022, before moving on to junior secondary in January.
