More Boys Scored Grade E as Compared to Girls in the KCSE 2021/2022

The candidates who posted a mean grade of E in the 2021 KCSE exams went up as compared to the previous years.
As per to the education ministry released data ,it shows that a total of 46,151 students scored grade E. Out of this, the majority were male Out of this number, a total of (26,578) students were males as 19,573 were females.
At the same time , more than 400,000 scored D+, D plain, and D-; 245,454 were females and 271,847 were males.
Thus this means that more than half of the total number of candidates scored D+ and below.

In the 2021 national examination results reflected an increase to 145,145 candidates.
Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service data indicates that 128,073 students were placed in degree courses.

A total of 6,617 candidates opted for diploma courses in technical colleges.
Education CS George Magoha while releasing the results had directed that those students who did not perform well could still secure a chance in vocational institutions.

Cs. Magoha urged the government to invest in TVETs which enroll most of the students who score below C-.
