Newly Hired TSC Teachers’ Revised Monthly Salary Earnings in Kenya 2022

TSC pays a newly employed graduate teacher in Kenya a minimum of Sh34,955 in basic salary per month after one is employed under permanent and pensionable terms.

Secondary Teacher II is the title of the newly hired teacher, who works in grade C2 (formerly Job group K).

These teachers receive a total of kSh5,000 in commuter allowance per month for C2 teachers in addition to their basic salary.

Additionally, TSC pays an annual Leave allowance of Sh6,000 once.

The commission also gives a monthly house allowance of between Sh6,500 to Sh7,000.

The newly hired teacher is on probation for a minimum of six (6) months, as stated in the TSC letter of appointment.

However, in some circumstances, if the teacher’s performance is unsatisfactory, the probationary period may be prolonged.

One will be automatically promoted to job group L, which is now grade C3, after three years of service. Note that a form must be completed for TSC in order to implement this promotion.

Diploma in Education holders get an entry-level salary of Sh27,195 per month. In addition, they are eligible for a number of benefits.

With a minimum monthly income of Sh21,756, primary school teachers begin their careers in education in Grade B5 (Job Group G).
