VACANCY – Part Time Trainer on Good Agronomic Practices

Part Time Trainer on Good Agronomic Practices Agriculture Improvement Support Services (AGRISS) a registered NGO in Kenya, was founded in 2015 and has office at Kogwe, Rodi Kopany, Homa Bay County. Its operational area spans in the greater western Kenya region. AGRISS vision is that of equitable and wellbeing society with a mission to contribute to economic, health, social and environmental wellbeing of communities.
AGRISS is in partnership with GIZ to implement a project that seeks to strengthen Sweet Potato Productivity among small holder farmers in select 12 wards of Homa Bay County. The project aims to improve good agronomic practices among 4000 small holder sweet potato farmers for a period of one year.
The project will be implemented in the following wards: Karachuonyo Central, Kibiri, Kanyamwa Kologi, Kanyikela, South Kabuoch/pala, Kanyadoto, Kochia, Kagan, Arujo, Gwassi North, Gwassi South and Lambwe ward.
AGRISS wishes to prequalify and engage six result oriented and self-motivated part time Trainer of Trainers from the various wards who will support the delivery of sweet potato GAP training to farmers. The TOT will be taken through a training and only engaged on a need basis.
The TOT should have these minimum qualifications:
i) Have a minimum academic qualification is diploma in agriculture or related field
ii) Fluent in the local language, Kiswahili and English
Part Time Trainer on Good Agronomic Practices
Duties and responsibilities
i) You will be expected to commit to an initial 3 days Trainer of Trainer session organized by GIZ and AGRISS
ii) You will deliver the three-day sweet potato GAP training to farmer groups at the various wards using the GIAE developed manual
iii) Effectively engage farmers during the training session with a delivery style that is clear, concise, energetic and relevant
iv) Provide a timely and honest feedback to AGRISS on the trainings including the attendance lists
v) Participate in AGRISS TOT social platform and share challenges and recommendations for timely and effective project decision making
