PSC Extends Application Deadline For Top Jobs Advertised

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has extended the deadline for submission of applications for the advertised positions of Principal Secretaries in the public service from today 20th September 2022 to Tuesday 27th September 2022.

“According to PSC Chief Executive Officer Simon Rotich, Interested applicants now have seven more days to apply for the positions that are expected to fall vacant following the General Elections held on 9th August 2022.” reads part of the circular issued on Tuesday by Browne Kutswa, PSC’S Director Public Communication.

The PSC is required by Article 155(3)(a) of the Constitution to recommend candidates to the President for nomination and appointment as Principal Secretaries.
The current Principal Secretaries will also need to apply, PSC chairman Anthony Muchiri said in a statement released on Tuesday.

The initial advertisement statement read, “Women, minorities, the marginalized, and those living with disability are urged to apply.”
The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), and Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission are anticipated to grant the applicants clearance .

They should also be cleared by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) (Certificate of Good Conduct) and have a clearance from Credit Reference Bureau

The qualified applicants must have a degree from a Kenyan institution and at least ten years of relevant professional experience, five of which must have been in a management or leadership position in the public or private sector.

Additionally, they must adhere to the standards of integrity and leadership outlined in Chapter Six of the Constitution.
According to PSC, they should have a basic understanding of the structure and operations of government.

The National Identity Card or Passport, copies of relevant academic and professional certificates and transcripts, testimonials, and any other relevant supporting documentation are required to be submitted with every application, according to the Commission.

“Scanned copies of these documents must accompany an online application,” it added.
Further, all applications should be clearly marked “Application for the position of Principal Secretary”.

The applications should be delivered in person to the Office of the Secretary/CEO, which is on the fourth floor of Commission House off Harambee Avenue, or mailed to the address provided by the Commission.
