SRC authorizes pay increases for county speakers and MCAs
MCA Salary in Kenya.The Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) has approved a pay increase for county assembly speakers and MCAs.
The new pay rate for MCAs will be Sh154,481 per month starting July, with an increase to Sh164,588 in the 2024-25 financial year.
Meanwhile, county assembly speakers will see their gross pay rise to Sh562,312 from the current Sh525,525 from July 1, and then to a gross of Sh601,674 in the 2024-25 financial year.
The pay increase for MCAs is lower than what they had clamoured for, with the SRC proposing a yearly Ksh10,000 increase for them .
The majority and minority leaders will also see their pay rise from Sh144,375 to Sh191,324 in the next financial year, and will receive a committee sitting allowance of Sh62,400 for one committee per month .
