Under the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA),The Teachers Service Commission(TSC) established 36 job groups for teachers. The Commission upon the guideline by the Career Progression Guidelines Tutors were placed in various job groups. Majorly teachers were placed  in two categories;

• The Administrators
• The classroom teachers/ Non- administrators.

ADMINISTRATORS

Administrators are Managerial category of teachers In public Schools and Colleges . In Secondary Schools  are;

1. Principals
2. Deputy Principals
3. Senior Masters.

In Primary schools schools  the Administrators are;

1. Head Teachers
2. Deputy Head Teachers
3. Senior Teachers .

In Tertiary institutions/ Teachers’ colleges the Administrators include;

1. Principals
2. Deputy Principals
3. Senior Lecturers

NON- ADMINISTRATORS

With guidelines from the  Career Progression all Secondary School Non Administrators are categorized in the Secondary Teacher Category.

In Primary Schools  non administrators are classified into the Primary Teacher Category.

For Tertiary Institutions administrators are placed in the Lecturers’ band.
