TSC declares that teachers in Grade 7 will receive training in October.

A training program for tutors in junior secondary schools has been launched by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), and it will begin the following month.

Both Competency Based Assessment (CBA) and Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) training will be provided for the teachers.

Language, science, math, humanities, and technical subject instructors have been named by the Commission as needing training in a document dated September 26 that was sent to TSC Regional and County Directors.

Teachers will be trained at Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) and other specialized county locations.

From October 9 until October 13, 2023, teacher training will begin.

However, Master Trainer and Trainer of Trainers (TOT) training will begin sooner.

At the Kenya Institute of Special Education, Master Trainers from TSC, KICD, KNEC, KEMI, CEMASTEA, MOE, and TTCs will begin their training on October 2 and continue until October 4.

The TOTs (both SNE and normal) will thereafter be trained by Master Trainers.

Training for TOTs will begin on October 6 and 7 at Teacher Training Colleges and other carefully chosen county locations.

TOTs include Teacher Educators (Tutors), Curriculum Support Officers (CSOs), TSC Sub County Directors, and Ministry of Education quality assurance officers.

All participants will receive face-to-face instruction.

Following the posting of 18,000 intern teachers to junior secondary schools by TSC in late August and early September, the instructors are now receiving training.

The instruction coincides with the beginning of the national writing assessment for students in Grade 7 in October.
