The teachers commission CEO Dr. Nancy Macharia noted during the press conference that 1594 heads of institutions who were supposed to retire in 2021 have been delayed by two years due to the effects of Covid-19 in the country.
The TSC boss went on to say that the government has been investing cash to attract teacher interns since 2019. A total of 28,000 interns have worked with the Commission to far.
She further expressed confidence in the teachers’ ability to welcome kids to Junior Secondary. “Our teachers are prepared to deal with these pupils.”
All candidates qualified for grade 6, class 8, and form 4 tests in November and December this year were to register between April 27 and March 14, 2022, according to KNEC CEO Dr. David Njenge’ere.
President Uhuru Kenyatta ‘s government will continue to pay examination fees for children both in public and private schools. This has been happening since 2016.
So far this is the last examination being administered outside the regular October/ November national examination season that had been temporarily disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic
