TSC Promotion News. At least 1,500 school administrators who had applied for promotions, had interviews, and were expecting promotion letters got a bad surprise this week.
Instead of promotion letters, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) sent letters of sorrow to teachers. The names of Teachers who got regret letters is in the TSC website. To access the website click HERE.
1,300 of the instructors who received letters of regret, according to TSC, still have time to submit an application.
It is unclear why the Commission canceled their appointments given that they had already been confirmed and shortlisted after county-specific interviews.
Sadly, some acting teachers who had hoped to be confirmed were unsuccessful.
TSC has told the teachers to reapply for the positions when a promotion advertisement is released.

It is unclear if TSC will take on the next teacher promotion issue.
3,359 public schools, according to TSC data, do not have head teachers.
There are 1,918 public elementary schools with no principals and 1,441 senior schools with no principals.
A total of 3359 schools countrywide do not have enough school heads.
This is a result of the government seeking to bring changes in the education sector.
TSC promotion advertisement
In December 2022, TSC advertised 14,738 promotion posts before they were later canceled.
The canceling also happened in January, March, and May after teachers failed to apply.
Most of the teachers who attended the promotion interviews in March were posted to their respective counties.
The TSC CEO cited teachers as the reason several counties’ announced advancement positions went unfilled.
According to the TSC chief, the commission earlier this year publicized 14,738 opportunities for the promotion of teachers to different grades to fill jobs created by attrition.
However, only 11,231 teachers were hired, while 3,507 positions went unfilled for want of qualified candidates. Affirmative action teachers were eligible for 1,021 positions overall.
For both ordinary and special schools, TSC posted job advertisements for the positions of chief principal, principal, deputy principal, senior master, headteacher, and senior teacher.
