TSC NEW LIST OF 1000 TEACHERS WHO RECEIVED PROMOTION LETTERS 2023

TSC payslip. The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has distributed more than 1000 promotional letters to school administrators across various counties.

Several counties are now issuing posting letters to owners, despite delays since interviews were completed.

Newly posted instructors received their letters early, enabling them to report to their new station and begin working the following term.

TSC advertised for 14,738 teaching positions in December 2022 before canceling the advertisement.

The organization requested additional applications in January, March, and May due to insufficient demand for the required number of people.

The Commission has not issued letters to instructors who applied for senior positions, and

some teachers are currently acting as senior teachers while awaiting confirmation.

The TSC database indicates that most teachers who attended promotion interviews in March and were shortlisted for the posts they applied for have not yet been posted.

A top TSC official blamed the delays on a paucity of finances, which were supplied in chunks by the Treasury.

The Commission is expected to continue promoting and posting teachers in small increments as long as it receives financial support.

TSC CEO Nancy Macharia has attributed the stagnation of teachers to their lack of promotion.

She accused instructors of being hesitant to seek promotions in nearby counties.

The commission faced challenges in implementing “promotion based localisation,” where teacher advancement is now based on the number of openings in a specific county.

The TSC chief announced that the commission published 14,738 job openings earlier this year for teacher promotion to cover natural attrition positions.

Only 11,231 teachers were hired, with 3,507 unfilled due to insufficient applications, and 1,021 were designated for affirmative action teachers.

TSC has advertised for various positions in both regular and special schools, including

  • chief principal,
  • principal,
  • deputy principal,
  • senior master,
  • headteacher,
  • deputy headteacher, and
  • senior teacher.
