The Teacher Service Commission (TSC) has introduced a new replacement program for instructors who retire for natural reasons.
Dr. Jamleck Muturi, Chairman of TSC, announced that there were vacancies to replace teachers who retired due to natural attrition.
Speaking at a press conference at Tambach College of Education, Mr Muturi revealed that the government will prioritize areas with teacher shortages in the recruitment and deployment process.
He pointed out that although the country lacks about 100,000 teachers, the government regularly creates opportunities to hire 5,000 new teachers each year.
Muturi called on stakeholders in the education sector in Elgeyo Marakwet to work together to improve the quality of education across the district.
The Committee strives to create a favorable environment for both students and teachers, emphasizing the importance of all parties in ensuring high quality education.
