TSC’s Most Recent Annual Leave Payments for Teachers through 2023
Teachers who work for the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) are entitled to 42 days of annual leave per year, which must be used over the summer.
It’s important to remember that instructors who don’t use their annual leave are still regarded as being on active duty even while classes are out.
Depending on their grade and TSC scale, teachers receive a different annual leave allowance. Based on these considerations, the following table lists the corresponding annual leave allowance amounts:
- Grade B5 (TSC Scale 5): 4,000
- Grade C1 (TSC Scale 6): 4,000
- Grade C2 (TSC Scale 7): 6,000
- Grade C3 (TSC Scale 8): 6,000
- Grade C4 (TSC Scale 9): 6,000
- Grade C5 (TSC Scale 10): 6,000
- Grade D1 (TSC Scale 11): 10,000
- Grade D2 (TSC Scale 12): 10,000
- Grade D3 (TSC Scale 13): 10,000
- Grade D4 (TSC Scale 14): 10,000
- Grade D5 (TSC Scale 15): 10,000
Please note that the grade and TSC scale of the respective teacher determine the specific amount of Annual Leave Allowance.
Points to Note:
- All Heads of sections need to maintain Leave Roasters to facilitate the smooth management of officers proceeding on leave. These roasters should include the leave period and the days requested.
- Officers must complete the leave form in duplicate and submit it to the Secret Registry at least one month before the commencement of their leave.
- The leave allowance is disbursed once every 12 months. Any annual leave carried forward in excess of half the entitlement days will be automatically forfeited (i.e., more than 15 days for a 30-day entitlement).
- Staff members who take Maternity Leave will still retain their Annual Leave days for that specific year.
- Employees who do not return to the office after a hospital visit or fail to report to work due to illness must provide a medical certificate (sick note) within 24 hours. Failure to do so will result in the day being classified as absent, and the corresponding deduction will be made from their salary.
- Officers on STUDY LEAVE will not be eligible for Annual leave during that period.
