PRE-MOCKS EXAMS AND MARKING SCHEMES 2022
Teachers from private, public, and special needs schools who will work with students in grades 7 through 9 were targeted in the first phase.
Languages, pure sciences, applied sciences, mathematics, humanities, and technical courses were all represented by six teachers from each school.
The training exercise took place at several locations across the counties from April 25 to May 13, 2022.
Sub-county directors, curriculum support officials, and tutors from Teacher Training Colleges were among those who participated in the program. Face-to-face and virtual sessions were both held.
TSC Chief Executive Nancy Macharia said all teachers will be supplied with the necessary tools to administer the competency-based curriculum and competency-based assessment, speaking at the exercise’s launch last month at the Kenya Institute of Special Education.
According to Dr. Macharia, the curriculum promotes a hands-on approach to learning, which necessitates teachers’ creativity and technical skills in assisting students in realizing their full potential.
“Inquiry-based, demonstration, dialogues, experimentation, and other ways that will support the learner in developing their talents, potential, and skills” are among the pedagogical approaches utilized in curriculum delivery, according to her.
