The academic model providing access to health care (AMPATH) is a project under the auspicies of Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) , Moi University and a Consortium of North American Universities led by Indiana University whose aim is to provide sustainable efforts in access to Health Care, Research , and Training.

POSITION: KENYA REGISTERED COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSE (KRCHN)- (12 POSTS)

Duties and responsibilities
reporting to the Medical Superintendent or Equivalent , the successful candidates will among others be responsible for the following
- facilitate general nursing care in MCH , Maternity and PMTCT
- Run MCH/FP services with minimal supervision
- Facilitate on the spot Prevention Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT) and Early Infant Diagnosis (EID) services both at facility and community levels with the goal of improving key PMTCT indicators
- Consult regularly to enhance performance and quality service delivery
- provide counselling and give psychotherapy care to patients/clients and relatives
- administer and keep record of drugs and other supplies
- prepare patients and help in performing various procedures
- any other duties as may be assigned
qualification and experience
The ideal candidate must:-
- be holder of Kenya Certificate of Education Division II or Kenya Certicate of Secondary Education Mean Grade C (plain)
- be in possession of a Diploma in Community Health Nursing from a recognized institution
- be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya
- have a minimum of 1- year experience in a busy hospital
- have shown competence and ability in organizing, performing and discharging duties
- RMNCAH/PMTCT experience will be an added advantage
- additional training in VCT/HTS and PMTCT will be an added advantage
terms of employment
